The event will be very crowded. *If the festival is cancelled, the tour will become the Mt Takao Tour. Hiwatari Matsuri (Fire Walking) is the ceremony of treading over burning coals, which symbolizes the purification of the body and soul from evil. Priests of the Yakuoin Temple located on the top of Mt. Takao, along with other believers, tread through the flames and glowing embers. It is said that the flames will not harm those who step swiftly and lightly, as opposed to those who move fearfully by lack of faith. Mt. Takao is one of the most famous and scenic spots in the Kanto Plains. From the top of the mountain, you will enjoy a spectacular view of dense forests, valleys and surrounding mountain ranges.
