You’ll visit Meiji Shrine, Tsukiji Market Place and Asakusa Temple on this tour. Meiji Shrine is Japan’s most famous Shinto shrine, dedicated to the Meiji emperor and his wife. Visitors to the shrine can take part in typical Shinto activities, such as buying charms and amulets or writing out a wish on an ema (wooden plaque). After visiting the Meiji shrine, walk around and experience the taste of Japan at the Tsukiji market. It is nicknamed “Tokyo’s kitchen” and is one of the largest marketplaces. The streets are lined with many retail shops, restaurants and much more. You may also find souvenirs unique to this area. The last stop of this tour will be Asakusa and its main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.
