NIKKO SPRING FESTIVAL— PROCESSION OF 1,000 WARRIORS

Tour cost includes bus transportation and admission to the Toshogu Shrine. The food is mostly Japanese cuisine. Re-entry is not permitted at the shrine. The procession begins around 11 a.m. Note: If the festival is canceled due to rain, this tour will be a Nikko Toshogu Shrine sightseeing tour. The spring festival of Nikko Toshogu Shrine is held annually on 18 May. The main event of the festival is the Sennin Gyoretsu (procession of 1,000 warriors) comprised of various groups of people dressed in costumes from the Tokugawa period. Nikko is one of the most popular national parks in Japan where tourists spend their holidays and where religious devotees visit shrines and temples.
