Snow shoeing is hiking on the snow with snowshoes and enjoying the view at the same time. It’s fun, easy to learn, healthy, family friendly and accessible.
We will be walking through a forest area where awaits beautiful scenery and shrines. You might have some time in the afternoon to even hit the slopes!
Cost: $70, Age 16 and Up
Includes: Transportation, Snowshoe, poles and Guide.

Trip Schedule:
0330 – Show Time (check in at counter)
0400 – Depart Outdoor Recreation (ODR), Bldg 564
0600 – Bathroom stop, en-route (20 min break)
0800 – Arrive at Togakushi (if roads are clear)
–Receive equipment
0900 – Start snowshoe trekking
1330 – Finish snowshoe trekking
–Free time (Lunch)
1530 – Show time back at bus
1600 – Depart for Yokota AB
1800 – Bathroom stop, en-route (40min break)
2100 – Approximate return to Yokota (if roads are clear)
**Please bring extra money (yen) if you eat at the restaurant afterwards.
Mandatory items
waterproof hooded jacket, waterproof long pants, warm & quick dry clothing, hiking boots/snow boots (high-cut), thick & warm socks, gloves, beanie, google/Satglasses and backpack to prepare for various weather (wind, snow and Sat).
Recommended items
hot drink with water bottle, snacks, Satscreen, neck warmer, heat pad, gaiter, etc.
