Take a leisurely walk along the river and marvel at the breathtaking views of the Fukiware Waterfall and its natural surroundings. Takasaki Byakue Kannon or White-Robed Kannon is a large statue of the goddess of mercy, Kannon. She stands on Jigan-in Temple grounds in Takasaki, Gunma prefecture. At 137 ft tall, it has nine levels with 146 steps. The levels are lined with 20 statues of Buddhist deities. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the 9th level, which is about shoulder high, providing a great view over the city and surrounding mountains.
