FINANCIAL READINESS

Financial Workshops

Offered Throughout the Year

Managing personal finances remains a top concern for DAF personnel and family members. Financial issues for Service members can have a direct impact on readiness and retention. In many cases, resultant financial problems have had a serious negative impact on DAF personnel and families, as well as a significant effect on operational readiness, morale, and retention.

Service members and the DAF have a joint responsibility to address personal financial obligations. Members have an obligation to meet the financial needs of their families and discharge their just financial debts in a timely fashion. The DAF promotes sound financial practices, personal integrity, and responsibility among its members. This is accomplished both at the command and installation level through the M&FRC’s certified Personal Financial Manager (PFM) and Personal Financial Counselor (PFC) who work within the AFPC’s umbrella. Both PFM and PFCs provide factual, unbiased financial counseling to service members and families upon request regardless of service affiliation and assist them with developing skills and strategies to meet financial goals and achieve and maintain financial readiness.

Personal Financial Management classes are offered monthly that help in providing service members the common knowledge, skills, and behavior standards to enable them to manage their financial affairs in a manner that enhances mission and financial readiness.
