The village has been reconstructed and reopened as an open-air museum and traditional craft village, where visitors can learn about local culture, try out various crafts, and purchase unique handicrafts. The village now consists of more than twenty houses, which have been transformed into shops, restaurants, museums, and galleries. Fuji Kachoen Garden Park is home to over 30 species of birds, including more than 100 owls, most of which were hand-raised by park staff and are very friendly to visitors. The park also boasts a vast collection of over 10,000 begonias, fuchsias, and hydrangeas, which bloom year-round, offering a stunning display of flowers in every season.
