ITINERARY:
Depart 7 a.m.
Samurai Temple 9–10:15 a.m.
Shosenkyo 11:15–2:30 p.m.
(Lunch on your own/ cable car ride)
Return 6 p.m.

The cost includes bus transportation, temple admission, and a cable car ride. Please note that there are over 100 steps to climb if you choose to walk the Shosenkyo trail. This historical tour takes you to the burial site of Takeda Shingen, a great warrior and “Daimyo” (samurai leader of the war age), who died in 1572 while on his journey to Kyoto, where he was destined to become a Shogun. The temple is also renowned for its exquisite garden, created by Muso Kokushi, a high priest of the Samurai Age. Continuing on to Chichibu National Park, you will ride the cable car up Mt. Kimpu, the highest peak in the park, to the Shosenkyo Gorge, which was formed along the Arakawa River. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the fantastic shapes of the rock cliffs.
